Left you can see detailed images of the exterior of G-BOAB during 2014, some of the images appear worse than they actually are however we are pleased to note bird netting and external access holes are blocked to prevent infestation. Some of the required placards and markings are missing, these have mostly been removed for preservation.

Right, another walkaround during 2015 to check condition, she still shines. Regular maintenance by BA including washing is apparent (usually done twice a year as of 2015)

In 2016 she is taken into the former paint shop to be cleaned, dried out and have the "Magazine Ballast" removed, this was done by BA engineers, we were all pleased this was done as the cycle of condensation within the airframe was stopped, it also gave BA a chance to see the condition of the airframe close up with removal of panels. The front landing gear was painted and she was thoroughly cleaned inside. Reports by engineers and staff have all been positive, she was later returned outside and fixed to the ground to prevent her from moving.

G-BOAB Heathrow Prior to BA Preservation work

The images right were taken PRIOR to the maintenance work completed by BA in 2016.

The images show some luggage bins and interior panels still in place and the in flight magazines acting as ballast for the aircraft.
Since this photo was taken the panels and luggage bins have been removed and stored to preserve them
